In a move that some of you may have long been waiting for, south London queer disco crew Horse Meat Disco, aka James Hillard, Jim Stanton, Luke Howard and Severino Panzetta, have released their first EP.
Known for their high calibre house and disco crate-digging, an extensive pool of knowledge has been bought into the studio for the creation of ‘Waiting For You To Call’, set to be released on June 30.
In true vinyl loving fashion, fans will be able to get their hands on both a one-track, single-sided record and a limited three-track 12-inch.
Originally produced by the iconoc quartet and Darren Morris, lyrics were written and sung by long-time friend ROY INC, with Luke Solomon later adding live strings, horns and drums. "Our first release of original music is a nostalgic collaboration between good friends and eclectic tastes," Hillard says of the effort. "An '80s-inspired soul pop record that came from a love of early-morning dancing."
Horse Meat Disco first launched their weekly queer party Horse Meat Disco in soho fourteen years ago, before relocating down to Vauxhall where the club nights gained legendary status.
Their upcoming dates include shows at Outpit in New York, Love International in Croatia, ipse in Berlin and Ibiza’s new Hi club – closer to home, you can catch them at Patterns on September 16.
