On Sunday 10th December, Canadian Techno boss Richie Hawtin closes the Printworks winter season with his latest project - Playdifferently. Richie is renowned for his mastery of Native Instruments' Traktor software, and has pioneered digital software over the last two decades.
Hawtin is set to showcase Playdifferently, a brand-new hardware venture in collaboration with former Allen & Heath developer Andy Rigby-Jones, for his set at Printworks. The Model 1 device, unlike Hawtin's usual software, is a six channel all-analogue mixer that provides the finest sound clarity for CDJ and Vinyl mixing – providing the perfect set up for combining digital and analogue sounds. Model 1 offers DJs a unique experience they can’t get with traditional mixers, and we can’t wait to see it in action at the Printworks warehouse.
Richie demonstrates the Model 2 analogue mixer and touches upon it wide-ranging features in the video tutorial below.
The lineup for Playdifferently includes techno maestros Chris Liebing, Luciano, Nicole Moudaber, Fabio Florido, HITO, Rebekah, and Benjamin Damage, who will all play with the Model 1 mixer.
If you have purchased a ticket and would like a chance to test out the Model 1 mixer in the industrial setting of Printworks, or intimate surrounds of the Charge Bay, then email firstname.lastname@example.org. One lucky winner will be awarded an amazing one-off opportunity to play the Model 1 mixer at Playdifferently's closing party in December.
