On 1st January 2018, LWE celebrate their fifth New Year’s Day event at Tobacco Dock with a truly unmissable line-up, featuring techno titan Floorplan (A.K.A Robert Hood), Ø[Phase], Alan Fitzpatrick, KiNK, Nastia, Axel Boman and Roman Flügel, to name a few.
German born DJ and producer Roman Flügel is one of the biggest and most legendary names in electronic music. His presence on the scene dates back to the mid 1990s, following the launch of his label Ongaku Musik and the release of his debut techno EP Make You Move / Our Music. As if one label wasn’t enough, he also launched another two much-loved labels: Playhouse and Klang, which have all hosted a number of his aliases over the years from ambient and experimental to house and electro.
Some would say that 90s electro has made a comeback in recent years, and with that in mind it’s no surprise that Frankfurt crew HardWorkSoftWork wanted to release 1995 – an EP of Flügel’s unreleased electro bangers from 1995 – hence the title. The release of his first solo album Fatty Folder in 2011 demonstrated a new era for Roman, but now his early fans also have the chance to reminisce and celebrate Flügel’s classic production style.
