TOP 5: DEFECTED RECORDS

In preparation for their mammoth New Year’s Eve London spectacle at Ministry of Sound, we take a retrospective at their impressive back-catalogue: 5 tracks from the last twelve months and 5 more from their deep vaults. Get ready for some house hedonism! This Is Defected In the House.

Franky Rizardo – Same Man

What a year Franky Rizardo has had! He mixed and compiled 2017’s …In the House offering and established himself as one of the hottest production talents in the industry. This was the lead-track from that compilation – the sample recognisable from B Beat’s Girls’ 1983 For The Same Man, also famously sampled by DJ Delicious in 2006.

CamelPhat feat. Elderbrook – Cola

The track that keeps on goin’ and goin’ – truly the house track of the year! And it still has life in it yet. Now gone Silver, and rightfully so. The CamelPhat duo might be the hottest duo in the scene right now. No doubt inspired by their collaboration with Coca-Cola owned Relentless. Pop sales soared as a result… probably!

Amine Edge & DANCE – Lovelee Dae

The purveyors of G-Funk bring this much-loved record up-to-date in true Defected style. Present on NYE, so expect to get lowdown & dirty and get your groove on!

Josh Butler – Be Somebody

Another act who’ll be in attendance on the night, Josh is increasingly involved in the Defected camp.

John Tejada – Sweat (On The Walls) (Franky Rizardo Remix)

It’s that man Franky Rizardo again – this time on remix duties! Each version of their most recent release is worth checking-out! But this is the best by our money. Expect sweaty-scenes in The Box on December 31st!

Now for the classics…

Nick Curly – Underground (Dennis Ferrer Remix) (2012)

Kings of Tomorrow feat. April – Fall For You (Sandy Rivera’s Classic Mix) (2013)

Tensnake feat. Syron – Mainline (2012)

Dennis Ferrer – Bubbletop (2016)

Rachel Row – Follow The Step (KiNK Beat Mix) (2013)

We think this playlist should get you right in the mood for Defected NYE – it’s the perfect warm-up!
