AN A-Z OF MADE FESTIVAL, BIRMINGHAM

Bang in the middle of the country, Made Festival Birmingham is easy to get to for even the most travel shy of ravers. But that shouldn’t be your only reason for going. Here’s an alphabetical run-down of everything you need to know.

Andy C
There isn’t quite another figure like him in the world of DnB. Witness the RAM Records co-founder for yourself, if you haven’t already, and prepare for your head to spin.

Best Metropolitan Festival
Made was shortlisted for the award in 2014 and 2015. In our humble opinion, they were robbed.

Classical
Party like it’s 1989 on Sunday 31st July - Haçienda DJs Graeme Park and Mike Pickering perform a continuous set of Haçienda classics alongside an orchestra. Sounds like all your wildest trips come true.

Digbeth
Otherwise known as Birmingham’s creative quarter. Home to the Rainbow complex (home to MADE), the Digbeth Dining Club, Custard Factory, a whole host of amazing pubs, Millennium Point, Rhubarb Radio and and and loads more to explore. Get stuck in.

Etherwood
Check ‘Light My Way Home’ ft Eva Lazarus for a taste of what Etherwood is about. Released last year on Hospital Records, it is powerful, emotive and elegant.

Food
Digbeth Dining Club are now on board with not just a few but sixteen different stalls – fuel up for a whole lot of raving. You’ll find everything from pancakes to pizza to kebab to Caribbean, and much more.

Pete Graham
Part of the Food Music camp and a true Midlander. Support one of the local posse and his unique take on bass heavy club music.

Hugo Massien
An exciting newcomer from the XL camp, Hugo Massien’s latest release ‘Kontrol’ on the label embodied their outsider rave ethos with a heavy, meaning-it piece of bass tech.

In New DJ’s We Trust
Radio 1 DJ Monki has both style and substance - at just 21 she was a resident for Annie Mac’s AMP brand and a regular on Radio 1.

Jaded
Black Butter’s new signing are sure to blow up in the coming months – you heard it hear first. Check out their latest release Bomba on UKF.

Kano
Made in the Manor legend since day, Kano will bring the vibe. Whether you’re new to his music or a die hard fan, this one is essential.

Lady Leshurr
Performing in her hometown, it’s sure to get raucous when the Queen speaks. Brush up, brush your teeth and brrrrrap.

Maduk
Endorsed by every major name in DnB, this Amsterdam based youngster is one of the freshest names in the genre. Recently signed to Hospital Records, he’s also behind the Liquicity label and Youtube channel.

Nvoy
After featuring on Black Butter’s ‘Spread Love 5’ compilation, NVOY followed closely with remixes for Lion Babe, Tove Stryke and Blonde. Solid credentials indeed.

Open Air
No big-tops means this is a fully open air festival. Ponchos at the ready, get praying for sun, it’s all fun and games.

Parties
Or more specifically, after parties. MADE … My Night brings you a stellar line-up which we can’t reveal yet. You won’t be disappointed.

Queue Jump
Purchasing a VIP ticket gains you queue jump access into the festival, access to VIP areas and bars, Made My Night afterparty tickets and limited edition wristband. Bargain!

Rudimental
They’ve just been nominated for an Ivor Novello award, proving that well loved festival act Rudimental are still on top.

Stormzy
Voted 2015’s best Grime Act at the MOBO’s, Stormzy quite literally whipped up a storm last year with his Christmas Number 1 campaign for ‘Shut Up’ - the first ever freestyle to reach the top 40 in the UK. We can’t wait to see him in action.

Tonga
Mike Skinner and Murkage Dave team up on this new project – party bass music that is rowdy, scuzzy and ballin’ all in one. Vibes.

Under the Arches
Situated at the Rainbow Arena, you’ll find the bar area under the unique setting of Digbeth’s railway arches. Bars stock

Victoria Creperies
If you’re in any position to eat, do NOT, and I repeat NOT! Miss the desserts here. Brownies are out of this world good.

Weird Science
Other shows coming up from the Made Festival team ‘Weird Science’ include MK’s Area 10 show on April 29, Playaz 20th Anniversary with DJ Hype and Hazard, and the Seedy Sonics and Bestival show on June 3.

Shy FX
Yes we know it begins with an S, not an X, but Shy FX is really adding something X-TRA special to the line-up. See what we did there? If you haven’t already experienced the force of his sets… get to know.
