On Sunday 5th October Samuel Andre Madsen AKA S.A.M heads to London for his biggest headline show in the capital to date. Taking place in the 700-capacity industrial surroundings of Village Underground, Amsterdam-based house music imprint PiV Records return off the back of their sold out showcase earlier this summer.
Born in Denmark, the breakthrough Danish house producer has been turning industry heads recently with his ground-breaking single ‘Fury’s Laughter’. Some may say it was the track of summer, and we couldn’t agree more - in fact, chances are you’ve heard it being played on at least one dancefloor.
Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s reiterate that Samuel is no newbie to the scene. It all began as a child growing up in a religious family, playing the drums and guitar in his local church. Fast forward to his late teens, and Samuel moved to Copenhagen for University, where he found his passion for electronic music - the rest is history...
Listen to ‘Fury’s Laughter’ below:
Alongside regular DJing, he manages three labels and has co-produced tracks for the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Butch and Matthew Dekay, to name a few. His first label, Delaphine, was established in 2013 and so far only features productions of his own.
On the other hand he manages Dahlia - the sublabel of Delaphine - as a platform to release ‘Various’ EPs, inviting other artists to showcase their sound. For example:
He also co-runs Oscillatt since 2014, along with fellow Mandar band members Lazare Hoche and Malin Genie. Check out their sound below:
S.A.M and Mandar have already played at world famous establishments such as Fabric, Robert Johnson, Electric Pickle, and Rex Club, so make sure you grab any opportunity to see him play while you can.
There’s nothing not to love about S.A.M and his elegant loopy minimal house groovers. Witness the maestro in action this Sunday 6th October at Village Underground. Tickets on sale now.
