Electric Brixton is the stage set for Claptone’s much-heralded return to the capital this December. On Saturday 8th December, Claptone invites you to put on your mask and indulge in dancefloor drama. This is The Masquerade.
Whilst it has been two years since The Masquerade last graced the capital, the mysterious German selector has been keeping busy by taking his show on the road to Los Angeles, Paris, Melbourne, Barcelona and New York.
Aside from sprinkling his own brand of illusive magic on the biggest cities in the world, he even found time to get back in the studio, record and release his second studio album Fantast.
Little may be known of Claptone. Indeed, his real identity is shrouded in speculation. Perhaps instead of trying to play the master of at his own game, we should submit as willing participants and go with the ride. What we can say for certain, is that Claptone promises so much more than a DJ set. Smoke, mirrors and a showman at the centre of it all.
Returning to the scene of the last Masquerade event in 2016, Electric Brixton couldn’t be a more fitting venue. With its overhanging balcony, grand stage, majestic architecture and life as a former theatre, The Masquerade follows in a historic lineage of dramatisations at Electric Brixton.
Claptone’s cast of guests is still underwraps. But we can expect the big reveal to be a grandiose occasion in itself. Keep your eyes peeled for the latest news. We’re confident in saying that the very special support acts will be fellow practitioners in the dark act of manipulating the dancefloor.
First release tickets are on sale now.
