Few promoters operating in the game work as hard - or as diverse - as Percolate. As we approach clubland’s autumn and winter programme, the London-based party starters have announced a string of shows. Throughout October and November, they’ll be involved in no less than seven shows, that include a Saoirse all night long and a jaunt to Amsterdam for ADE. With so much going on, let’s take a look at their plans for the coming months.
Saturday 5th October is an especially busy day for the party collective, as they bring not one but two blockbuster events to the capital. From 18:00 onwards, Horse Meat Disco takeover Oval Space for a ten hour marathon. Naturally, Jim, James, Luke and Severino will all be on hand playing the broad spectrum of their sound from Italo to house, rare groove to disco - and, we suspect, plenty of material from their forthcoming album. HMD are joined by Little Gay Brother for the special show against the backdrop of Bethnal Green’s gasholders.
A bit further east later that same day, another party kicks off. Mella Dee plays all night long at Bloc., Autumn Street studios. Forming part of his Warehouse Music tour, expected the extended set format to allow Mella Dee to experiment with a wider range of sounds from his label and beyond.
A little over a month later and Percolate are back again. On Saturday 9th November the outfit celebrate their seventh birthday by dumping famed Scottish duo Optimo at E1 in Wapping. There they’ll be joined by fellow Glaswegian Jasper James, as well as Krywald & Farrer and Jaye Ward for a proper knees up that unites two UK capitals and their infamous party scenes.
Less than a week later, Percolate join forces with Crazy P to promote the band’s new live show at Electric Brixton. Touring with new material from 2019 album Age of the Ego, there’s no disputing that Crazy P are one of the most unique and entertaining live electronic music acts the UK has produced in the past two decades. You shouldn’t pass the opportunity to see them play on Thursday 14th November.
Finally, Percolate return to Bloc. for a full weekend of action. Australian lo-fi sensation Mall Grab takes over the venue on two consecutive nights. The bedroom legend who amassed a devout online following and spawned a thousand imitators, is joined by Eclair Fifi, Loods, Salary Boy, FAUZIA and Jossy Mitsu on Friday 14th November and Nite Fleit, Skin On Skin and a special guest the following night.
Tickets for the above five shows are on sale now.
