CRITICAL MUSIC LABEL BOSS KASRA IS ABOUT TO DROP HIS FIRST SOLO EP

The founder of long-running London based drum and bass label Critical Sound has announced news of his debut solo EP. The label was established sixteen years ago by Kasra Mowlavi, but up until now he has teamed up with artists such as S.P.Y, Foreign Concept and earlier this year released the Transmitter EP with Enei.

Next up for Kasra is the highly anticipated solo release, titled Ski Mask which is due out on October 12th. The four track EP is raw drum and bass at its finest, and highlights the beginning of a new chapter for Mowlavi who’s keen to add more productions into the mix as well as DJing. Kasra explains, "I suppose it's taken me so long because I've put so much of my energy into building the label and developing my DJ career. Production always felt like something I needed to do with someone else to make sure we could get the project finished. A lot of this came down to a lack of confidence as well as technical ability."

"I was always writing sketches and I found myself a few months back with some demos I really liked," he adds. "I put energy into learning some new tricks and getting them finished."
