Setting itself aside from the pack, Maiden Voyage is a London festival that does things a little differently. Hosting a single stage and showcasing the kaleidoscope of sounds from the umbrella of jazz music, Maiden Voyage returns to East London's Three Mills Island for its sophomore outing on Sunday 30th August. Diverse and rooted in jazz’s eclectism, the line-up is out now. Here are the artist you need to be looking out for.

Few outfits represent the city’s new wave of jazz better than Ezra Collective. The London-based quintet have been a revelation since bursting onto the scene and enjoying some notable commercial success with their debut album, You Can’t Steal My Joy. Fusing elements of neo-soul, rap and afrobeat through jazz’s frantic lens, the multi-ethnic five piece are an ideal choice for headline act.

JPEGMAFIA isn’t your typical rapper. Firstly, he is the recipient of a masters degree from Louisiana University. He also has a tour of service to his name. He also bases himself out of Baltimore rather than New York or the West Coast. Conformist, you could never accuse him of being. Drawing on his Jamaican heritage, JPEGMAFIA’s fearless experimental streak saw him win rave reviews on his first two albums.

Influenced by everything from Italo disco to world ethno-music, Nu Guinea’s musical output invokes images of far-flung lands. The duo’s unique DJ/keys hybrid show definitely borrows from the improv and unpredictable universe forged in the jazz era. Watching them play is like being a fly-on-the-wall in their garage jamming session. Synthesizers coupled with tribal instruments never sounded so good. Completely off the wall!

Genre-panning doodler Mr. Scruff adds multi-dimensional flavour, as he is sure to touch on all shades of the electronic spectrum and even veer off-road. Home-made visuals incoming.

Detroit house heavy-hitter Theo Parrish is back in the capital, after his explosive appearance at E1 back in January, plus there’s room on the bill for Worldwide FM aficionados Wind + Skins, burgeoning radio presenter Tash LC, exciting singer-songwriter Erika de Casier, DJ Mafalda From The Sun and Irish multi-disciplinarian Kojaque.
