With so much doom and gloom in the news, it’s good to deliver something more positive. International Music Summit have announced that they’ve invited female collective shesaid.so to come onboard as presenting partners for the 2019 conference in Ibiza. Taking place between 22nd-24th May at Hard Rock Hotel, this will be the third consecutive year that shesaid.so have had a presence at the annual season curtain-raiser. With their input expanded in 2019, shesaid.so and IMS have the power to be a force for good across the globe.
This latest collaboration seeks to identify areas where positive transformation can occur, encouraging debate and proactively working towards change. The link up aims to address the gender gap and where necessary propose solutions for the industry to adopt.
IMS co-founder addressed the collaboration:
“IMS has been on a journey of self-discovery in recent years and we feel ready to focus our event and its curation around striving for inclusivity in as many areas as possible.”
With so much having happened in the past twelve months - both inside and out of the industry - it’s important that the discussion continues. With Jackmaster’s high profile behaviour at Love Saves the Day and the furore over the appointment of judge Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court, it remains clear that much work still needs to be done.
shesaid.so founder Andreea Magdalina had the following to say:
“We are excited to renew our partnership with IMS as programming co-host. This gives us greater opportunity to create more visibility for women and other marginalised communities within electronic music and beyond.”
