As far as house music labels go, Hot Creations are a modern day behemoth. It’s hard to believe that Jamie Jones & Lee Foss’ imprint was formed seven years ago now. During that time they have both gone on to establish themselves as superstars, whilst helping break the careers of many of their peers. Patrick Topping, Richy Ahmed and wAFF all call the label “home”.
It’s therefore fitting that co-founder Jamie Jones should take the helm for their landmark 100th release.
The 4-track EP titled ‘Kooky Music’ is scheduled for release on 22nd September, and features several collaborations. Kevin Knapp returns to the label on ‘Positive Pressure’. But it is the Katy B featuring ‘Sound Of Music’ which we expect to hear everywhere from now until well into the autumn. The South London songstress sultry vocals could well see this break into the charts. Surprisingly the house number is actually a cover of an old DNB track by Nookie. It might just be the perfect antidote to the wave of tech-house antipathy, and will be extending summer vibes into the cooler months.
On the flip-side, ‘Parallel Universe’ is a dancefloor ready weapon which is gonna be doing some serious damage at DC10 and other terraces across the Med. Paradise-incoming!
The tracks are available for pre-order and preview on Beatport now (https://www.beatport.com/release/kooky-music-ep/2097829)
Jamie Jones headlines Paradise at Printworks London on Saturday 25th November.
He’s joined by co-headliner Loco Dice and a whole host of Hot Creations regulars.
