London’s premier house and techno festival - Junction 2 - is on sale for its 2020 fifth edition. The two day event is set for Friday 5th and Saturday 6th June and will again take place at Boston Manor Park in West London.
Excitingly, organisers have already started to drip feed a few interesting aspects about this year’s festival. It sounds like an oxymoron, but J2 is expanding whilst simultaneously staying the same size. Let us explain.
In 2020 the number of stages will increase from five to six. Established favourites The Bridge, the Meadow, the Warehouse, the Stretch and the Woods all return, whilst a brand new sixth structure will be revealed in the build-up to the weekend. However, the organisers are not increasing the capacity of the event, meaning number of tickets, footfall and queuing times will be unaffected. In addition to a new stage, all of the existing stages will be upgraded with higher spec sound and lighting - with some even getting a new visual identity as well. Further proof that the festival gives attendees the chance to experience the clash of natural and manmade features of the venue, without compromising on safety and comfort.
These revelations point to J2’s continued evolution whilst staying true to its core principles. The message remains unchanged: amazing sound, high-end production, organisational excellence, extended set times, no VIP, no long queues and absolutely no plastic tents.
At the moment, the line-up is still a work in progress, though we only need to look at past years to know that it will push the boundaries of what to expect at an inner city London festival.
