Six months. That’s what stands between us and the fifth edition of Junction 2 festival. Half a year sounds like a lot, right? But it will fly by. Especially since the festival organisers have today confirmed the full line-up for both Friday and Saturday. In case you needed telling, it’s pretty epic.
DJ Koze is the biggest addition to Friday, the non-conventional house DJ invited back for a third time. Midland’s call up is arguably overdue, while trans star Eris Drew joins her partner Octo Octa on the bill, adding to the diversity of the talent pool. New Zealand siblings Chaos In the CBD, Leon Vynehall and Eclair Fifi are three more notable additions, as is Peach - back for a second consecutive year.
Saturday sees Seth Troxler make his festival debut. Sometime philosophical, other times irreverent, Seth is often seen as the industry’s mouthpiece. But we find he is at his most captivating when he is pulling records from his vast trove. Boston Manor Park is in for a treat. Italian brothers Mind Against are set for a much-anticipated return, while the likes of Blawan, Traumer and Binh promise heavy artillery. Adam Beyer calls upon Drumcode and Truesoul regular Joel Mull to make his first appearance and Perlon's Japanese minimal master Fumiya Tanaka provides more international flavour.
It isn’t all about DJs, either. Junction 2 have added a studied list of live acts to the roster across both days. We already knew that Jon Hopkins was headlining on Friday, alongside the sensational Fatima Yamaha. As of this midday, they have been joined by veteran electro outfit DMX Krew and their legendary live show. Stateside artist Aurora Halal is the next act, bringing her hazy and experimental set-up. On Saturday, Detroit originator Robert Hood will be supplying a mixture of minimal, gospel and soul textures with a rare live performance - and a UK festival exclusive. London favourites Dense & Pika will also be playing live after DJing at the festival for the past few years. Further live sets are set to come from 999999999 and Benjamin Damage, while new school hero DJ Boring is another sure to put the cat amongst the pigeons.
All in all, this is the most comprehensive Junction 2 line-up to date, as the UK most premier techno festival reaches a landmark year. You can view the complete line-up below.
Junction 2 2020 takes places on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th June at Boston Manor Park.
We fully anticipate this to sell out.
