LEAF Conversations will kick off 2015’s London Electronic Arts Festival with a series of talks from industry legends, and tastemakers from each corner of the scene. Here’ a look at what’s on offer and the topics that will be discussed, plus a few more bits to come. Expect indepth discussion with the audience on a wide range of subjects, with a relaxed, open and forward thinking environment.

Nile Rodgers: Unmoderated / Uncensored / Unlimited - LEAF is excited to announce the first additions to the Friday LEAF Conversations which includes the legendary Nile Rodgers. The multiple Grammy award-winning artist will be presenting a talk which will be Unmoderated, Uncensored and Unlimited. Rodgers admits to not enjoying having moderators or being told to stop during talks, so LEAF has given him the floor for as long he wants for his talk.

The Rise and Rise of Black Butter Records will look at a label that’s the first home for the likes of Rudimental, Clean Bandit and Jessie Ware. Whilst simultaneously harnessing the talents of the likes of Kidnap Kid, My Nu Leng and more; Black Butter are flying the flag for the British bass sound on an international level.

Meet Team RAM Records will look at the meteoric rise of RAM Records, it’s birth from jungle and how it remains at the forefront of the DNB movement today. With discussion from artists, managers and booking agents, this will give a personal insight into one of the UK’s most defining electronic labels.

Legendary disco DJ, DJ Harvey will be interviewed by Rob da Bank – expect a no holds barred, frank and enlightening conversation by one of the scene’s most influential players. Harvey will also play one of his legendary DJ sets at LEAF Club on the following day, and this talk will give an insight into a side of Harvey you might not see..

Also confirmed is a presentation and discussion ELAM – the East London Academy of Music. Will is one half of Chase & Status, whilst his brother Charlie is running the new government-funded school for modern music. The duo will talk about how they are opening up electronic music for the wider community and trying to engage with youth through the creative music making process.

B Traits: State of Mind - Following the recent BBC documentary and with more more people taking a wider range of drugs than ever, Radio 1 DJ B.Traits will talk about the use of drugs within the industry and issues surrounding it. Addressing issues about closet addicts in the industry it will also question the safety of drugs and whether people really know what they are taking.
