Richie Hawtin’s techno reference point, Plus 8 Records has released a new V/A compilation. The intent behind the package is to shine a torch on the next wave of talent being nurtured under Hawtin’s tutelage. +8138 is comprised of 8 new tracks, each supplied by a different producer. Contributions come from high-profile names such as ANNA and Fabio Florido, to relative unknowns, like YUADA and Orbe. These artists join the ranks of the label’s alumni amongst some pretty decorated names, including John Acquaviva, Speedy J, Kenny Larkin and various Hawtin monikers.
Those of you fortunate enough to attend the intimate Plus 8 showcase at FOLD warehouse earlier this summer, will have caught some of the label’s next generation in action. ONYVAA and Matrixxman were amongst the guests who joined Richie in wowing the 500 capacity crowd at the Canning Town venue back in October.
If you happened to miss out on that occasion, luckily you don’t have long to wait until Richie Hawtin returns to London. The Canadian luminary headlines show 3 of 5 of the debut Sphere series, which is taking over Magazine in February and March 2020. Although the new Greenwich venue has a capacity 600% bigger than FOLD, we’re expecting it to sell-out nonetheless. On Saturday 29th February, Hawtin lines-up alongside Charlotte de Witte and Plus 8 newcomers ANNA and ONYVAA.

Second release GA and Mezzanine level access tickets are on sale now, along with tickets for the four other Sphere events.
