Next year, legendary Dutch record label and distributor Rush Hour Records will celebrate its 20th year since it was established in 1999. Based in Amsterdam and co-founded by Antal Heitlager, the label has become an reliable stable for artists such as San Proper, Rick Wilhite, Young Marco, Hunee, KiNK, Kenny Larkin, Ame and more to showcase signature styles in the realms of house and techno. Although the label’s sound features influence from Detroit and Chicago, they aren’t limited by this, and boast a roster of worldwide artists from different genres and directions.
As we near 20 years since their conception, and to get you in the mood for festival season, we wanted to share some sets by Rush Hour artists which have blown us away in recent years.
If you’re just as blown away as we are, then it goes without saying that you need to check them out for yourselves. Playing on the Sunday at Farr Festival in Hertfordshire is disco icon Hunee, who’ll play alongside close friend and regular DJ partner, Antal. If you can’t wait until the final day, headliner Young Marco will be bringing heat to the woods on the Friday providing a nice start to the weekend. World renowned producer KiNK will perform a live masterclass at Leeds’ inner city electronic taking place on 2nd June. German duo Âme play London’s Junction 2 festival followed by the after-hours hosted by iconic venue, fabric. Tickets for the shows mentioned can be found on our site.
