Melé is the next inductee into Defected’s long-running … In the House mix series. He’s in good company, joining recent contributors DJ Haus and Sam Divine. The entry features music from the likes of Joeski, Jimpster, DJ Gregory and Ian Pooley. It’s another feather in Melé caps, following the recent news of being appointed an honorary role within the elrow family.
At initially glance, Liverpudlian-born Melé might seem an odd choice to be elrow’s non-EU cultural ambassador. And yet with his penchant for tribal percussion and boundless energy in the booth, he really embodies the samba spirit as much as any of today’s top tier of international DJ talent.
The compilation has been proceeded with a four-piece taster that showcases Melé infectious range. Melé In the House is released on 31st August, making his appearance at elrow Town London all the better timed.
Melé will be taking to the stage at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday 19th August. Naturally, he slots perfectly into the Sambodromo do Brasil stage hosting The Cave. He’ll play alongside Solardo, Shy FX, The 2 Bears, Bastian Bux and other elrow regulars. Expects drums, carnival flavours and many tracks from his Defected comp, we’re sure.
