MELT ANNOUNCES FIRST NAMES FOR 2017

When it comes to German festivals, all roads lead to Melt. Year on year, their line-up emerges as one of the most solid in Europe, and they’ve just announced the first wave of acts for 2017.

In addition to local and international DJ’s and electronic music superstars such as Dixon, Daniel Avery, Job Jobse, John Hopkins, Julia Govor, Sonja Moonear and Claptone, Melt have invited a broad selection of indie and live music acts including Kate Tempest and The Kills to offer a different vibe and alternative electronic stars such as Bonobo. Those that have attended will attest the diversity of Melt - standout acts in the past include Björk and Portishead.

Expect a special set from Micheal Mayer, whose seminal Deep House label Kompakt, established 23 years ago, has helped German rave culture scene grow from its seeds. Rodhad back to back with Âme promises to be a highlight to the 4x4 club music connoisseur.

At a time when location is key in a scene saturated with festivals, Melt’s is something quite special - Ferropolis (The City of Iron) is a recovered opencast mine - most of the land is now flooded leaving a peninsula surrounded by a lake where the party takes place. Huge digging machines, industrial apparatus and giant disco balls provide a spectacular backdrop, whilst daytime swimming and cooling off from the hot summer sun in between bands and DJ’s is a reality, as are eight spectacular stages to choose from – will you prefer the Main Stage, Beach Stage, Sleepless Floor or the Big Wheel?

Melt Festival takes place 15-17th July 2017 within easy reach of Berlin and Leipzig, East Germany. Weekend tickets are now on sale.
