2019 was always going to be a massive year for both Outlook and Dimensions festival, what with it being their swansong at the stunning Fort Punta Christo venue. After their seismic phase one artist drop, both events were gearing towards a fitting finale at the place that has grown to become home. However, we can confirm they mean business with the second wave of artists.
Turning our attention first to the opening festival, the official curtain-raiser to proceedings, taking place within the ancient fortress itself. Dimensions - always keen to throw a curveball or two into the mix - have added Grammy Award winning US group Andersen. Paak and The Free National to the bill on 28th August. The modern G-Funk singer and his band join Jeff Mills, Tony Allen, Objekt and Hunee in the 2,000 year-old Pula Arena.
Not to be outdone, Outlook have played their own wildcard. Calling in dubstep pioneer and Deep Medi label boss Mala to reunite with the 20-piece Outlook Orchestra for a mass-up of the ages. Previously, the two entities had collaborated this past Christmas with a run of special shows at London’s Southbank centre. Now they reprise their unlikely relationship in Croatia, providing fresh interpretations to music from Mala’s extensive back catalogue. We’re certainly intrigued to see how the show has developed since December - and we’re sure that all parties will have some surprises in store to mark the final Outlook at Punta Christo. You can experience the concert on 4th September.
In addition to these exciting revelations, further heavyweight names have been added to the festivals themselves. Dimensions have announced DJ Nobu, Youandewan, Dan Shake, re:ni and Craig Richards - who’ll play both an exclusive electro set, as well as going B2B with Nicolas Lutz. Outlook have revealed that Flava D, DJ Zinc and My Nu Leng are bringing the heat the week after.
Dimensions festival takes place from Wednesday 28th August - Tuesday 3rd September.
Outlook festival takes place from Wednesday 4th September - Tuesday 10th September.
Don't miss their last dance at Fort Punta Christo, a location both festivals have called their home for over eight years.
