Croatian festival mecca Outlook has released the full line up of it's blockbuster annual event. Among a host of hot names, London-born rapper Dizzee Rascal will headline the four day, sun-bathed event at Fort Punta Christo in Pula, nestled above the picturesque Adriatic sea. The festival takes place at the end of summer, this September 6 – 10.
The 32-year- old will kick off the opening festivities on the famous 2000-year- old amphitheatre located on the site, teaming up with grime godfather Wiley. The duo will be making appearances after a widely disputed altercation in Cyprus some 14 years. Feelings between the pair have been fraught over the years ever since Dizzee was rushed and stabbed 6 times in the partying spot of Ayia Napa.
Also representing the grime scene will be MCs Giggs, Sir Spyro and Newham Generals, as well as Spooky, Kahn & Neek and Butterz. Featuring for dub will see Adrian Sherwood, Dawn Penn, The Bug and Miss Red covering dub.
While drum and bass has been a heavy feature of the festival over the years, a fine wave of stars including Princess Nokia, MNDSGN, Mr Thing represent the hip-hop axis. DnB for this edition will be delivered by Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Calibre and Jonwayne. Josey Rebelle, Madam X, Zed Bias, Wookie, My Nu Leng and Paleman will also all be providing sets.
Bringing the sound of Dubstep are Commodo, Plastician, Digital Mystikz, and Jack Sparrow, while British star Swing Ting and Lisbon’s Principe crews will provide some pounding sounds.
Whilst Outlook boasts live acts and DJ sets spanning generations and music styles, the festival has never lost it's sense of identity as the largest Soundsystem Culture festival in Europe. The four days of first-class bass music approaches it 10th year in action and has gone from strength to strength over the past decade. 2017 is set to the festival's biggest to date.
