Scandinavian outfit Pegboard Nerds have been announced as the support act joining Delta Heavy at their headline date in London Fields on Saturday 20th October.
The duo consists of Norwegian Alexander Odden and Danish Michael Parsberg, two DJs who have previously enjoyed relative degrees of success as solo projects in their homeland, but who have gone on to conquer the world stage since combining forces.
Their unusual stage name is an anagram of their surnames (see why the “nerds” moniker begins to make sense). If you need further evidence of their nerd-like persuasions, the pair are avid video gamers - their recent tour branding was that of a retro game - as depicted in their music videos. Given how extensive they have toured this past twelve months, we guess the guys got a lots of hours in on their game console between gigs!
Since announcing their arrival on the world stage with a riotous performance at Tomorrowland in 2017, the ‘nerds have travelled the length and breadth of North America with their high-octane show. There’s scarcely been a city they haven’t stopped at in the State, as their profile has risen.
Musically, you will struggle to find a box suitable to classify the duo. In fact, when pressed to describe their genre, the answer is simply “crazy shit”. And if you look across their repertoire you will find a mash-up of dubstep, bass house, electro, glitch hop, hardstyle - nothing is off the cards. The only criteria seemingly being, it must be frantic.
Like headliners Delta Heavy, they have found a home on Canadian imprint Monstercat - making them the ideal warm-up for the two man D&B wreckin’ crew at The Hangar next month. With tickets set to increase in price very soon, this is the last opportunity to grab them at the first release price..
