EA Sports have released details of their forthcoming FIFA ‘19 multi-platform video game, including news on its soundtrack. One artist name in particular that stands out is rising Korean superstar, Peggy Gou. Seemingly uncontent with storming the world of electronic music and fashion, Peggy joins an elist list of stars who have contributed to this years edition with her 2018 smash It Makes You Forget (Itgehane).
Fellow electronic music stars Bob Moses are also involved, alongside rich pickings from the world of pop, R&B and hip-hop. With Gorillaz and Childish Gambino amongst the other artists, Peggy is certainly in good company.
The FIFA series has long been known to catapult house music producers to a wider audience - with approx. 50 million active players worldwide at any given time. Late super-producer Avicii contributed to the 2015 installment, while Disclosure, Kygo and Moby have all had their music featured down the years.
Knowing Peggy’s enormous ambitions, it should come as little surprise that she is also taking the gaming world by storm. All this comes off the back of news, that house music’s hottest property is to launch her own clothing line called Kirin. The high-end streetwear brand for women is a joint-project in association with New Guards Group. Those of you who form the 300k+ users who follow Peggy on Instagram will know she has long taken fashion seriously. As if this wasn’t enough to keep her busy, her music label Gudu is set to go live very soon.
Being a figurehead for an emerging Asian market, Gudu will be a platform to develop upcoming producers from the region. From this entrepreneurial movements, Peggy Gou is the very definition of a female boss.
You can catch her in more familiar territory at Mint Festival in Leeds at the end of the month. She’ll be putting down the game controller and casting aside her croquis pad to return to the DJ booth on Saturday 22nd September. Much like the FIFA ‘19 soundtrack, she lines-up next to some enviable peers: Moodymann, Derrick Carter and Kerri Chandler to name a few.
They all line-up on the Woodstock stage under the world’s largest disco ball. Third release tickets are on sale now - but these will soon move to final release, so don’t waste anymore time. FIFA ‘19 is released on 28th September.
