Earlier this year we reported that Korean sensation Peggy Gou was launching her own record label to run parallel with her burgeoning fashion range. It seems the wait is already over, as Gou confirms the 2-track EP Moment on the label, set to land on Gudu Records on 19th April.
Following up on the phenomenal success of last year’s early summer smash It Makes You Forget and her acid-soaked remix of Shakedown’s At Night, Peggy not only produces both cuts but adds her vocals once again. In a twist that is sure to excite fans, she sings in both English and her native tongue across the release. Certainly we are intrigued to hear the full results.
Jee-ook Choi, a surrealist illustrative from her homeland, has designed the artwork. The cover image depicts our heroine holding a traditional mask from the region. The title of the second track is Han Pan, but you can listen to Starry Night below:
Keeping the momentum going, Peggy Gou will again be doing the rounds during festival season. Notable appearances to pick-out include Dimensions’ festival final hoorah at Fort Punta Christo.
However, UK audience’s will be most psyched by her booking at Parklife. She lines up alongside an exceptionally programmed bill at the Palm House stage on Saturday. Joined by the likes of Moodymann, Honey Dijon, Hunee, Ben UFO and Call Super, arguably the most stacked arena of the weekend, it’s sure to be lit from the word go.
Moment will be released on Gudu Records on Friday 19th April.
