London producer Archie Fairhurst, aka Romare, has just shared his new single ‘Je T’aime'. Fresh off the back of his impressive debut Ninja Tune single, ‘Who Loves You?’ Romare delights with the driving, disco-flecked ‘Je T’aime', taken from his forthcoming second album, ‘Love Songs: Part Two’, set for release on 11th November.
A refreshing development of his second ever release, four track EP ‘Love Songs: Part One’, ‘Love Songs: Part Two’, explores many avenues of the romantic impulse across ten tracks which, which expand upon the casual brightness of his debut ‘Projections’, establishing him as one of the most exciting, new, certain and distinguishing producers on the electronic music circuit right now.
Fairhurst’s debut album ‘Projections’, swiftly became critically acclaimed, voted Album of the Year by DJ Mag, it received ecstatic reviews across the board, it was supported by the likes of Bonobo, Four Tet and Annie Mac, establishing Romare as fresh talent to keep an eye out for.
It’s no secret that Romare tries to incorporate a variety of influences into his own sound, from vinyl sampling to live guitars and retro monophonic synthesisers, his writing process is inclusive of a diverse range of method, creating authentic, unique sounds and grooves. His own personal taste is also depicted through his sound, growing up listening to Irish Folk, Jazz and Blues to the funkier side of Disco, Romare has undoubtedly created his own aesthetic. “I’ve tried to cover different areas,” Fairhurst explains, “from sexual urges to tender first encounters, from affairs to the questioning of one’s love.”
