The look of love. That knowing exchange between two star-crossed lovers as they get lost in each other’s eyes. It’s contentment. Happiness. Security. Companionship. It’s a look we regularly see Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg shoot each other’s way when they play behind the decks. Here is a back-to-back partnership that transcends the traditional role. It’s more intimate. It feels more organic. Now techno’s original power couple are linking up in the booth once again. They will play back-to-back from open to close at Sphere 004. The fourth installment of the five part series takes place on Saturday 14th March and will be their first B2B in the UK for many years.

We still have fond memories of the husband and wife tandem at Ministry Of Sound for sidexside back in 2016. Deviating from M.O.S’s usual programme, The Box was treated to a full-on techno assault in another all night long affair. Catching stars of this calibre on Ministry’s famed sound system was reward enough, but it was a truly special occasion seeing the chemistry between the two. On the night, we were taken off at different tangents at various points and stomped all the way through to daybreak.

The next instance in our memory, was the Launch Party for Junction 2’s third edition which took place at Tobacco Dock in February 2018. By this point, J2 had already amassed quite a following after two stellar outings. Such was the momentum heading into year three, that it warranted its only launch party to full fanfare. Festival ambassador Adam and Ida would reunite in the Great Gallery - the scene of earlier B2Bs at ENTER.London. With the M.O.S. party still fresh in the memory, the duo would again set the dancefloor pulsing and laid firm foundations for the festival itself.

It hasn’t only been on UK shores where they get to play B2B, but elsewhere in the world, such as their adopted home of Ibiza. The couple and their family are permanent residents on the party island. During the summer, they get frequent opportunities to play together. Partygoers could have caught them at Cocoon or Paradise down the years. In 2019 they were given the platform to open the season, with a headline set at IMS located within the ancient walls of Dalt Vila.

Adam Beyer is no stranger to sharing a booth. His enviable list of B2B partners includes Carl Cox, Joseph Capriati, Eric Prydz and more recently Enrico Sangiuliano. But none of those partnerships come close to the one with his wife. Soul mates. Parents. Best Friends. Label Heads. And DJ partner extraordinaires. Don’t miss this next opportunity to see Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg play side by side in London.
