Ahead of their 1st birthday party at Timbuk2 on Friday 29th January with special guests J:Kenzo, Nomine, C-Side and Lyth, we asked the team behind Bristol based party brand Subsist to tell us a little bit about their top five favourite tracks for January 2016.

Jodo Cast - Zillah's Groove <CLICK TITLE

UK garage forthcoming on Roska’s Kicks & Snares from J:kenzo’s alter-ego. An Interesting and bold move for J:kenzo to being exploring a different sound from his usual Artikal material that has made him a huge name in the Dubstep scene. Zillah’s Groove shows the diversity and talent behind his production skills, we should look forward to hearing more 2-step beats in the future. We are extremely hyped to have him headlining our 1st birthday.

Pinch - Screamer Ft Riko Dan <CLICK TITLE

On Pinch’s legendary Tectonic imprint, this one is hitting the club scene hard and reloads are a plenty. Following the industrial 4x4 sound, this roller makes for a dark vibe in the club, credit to Riko Dan giving his distinctive fierce vocals over the top giving the track another dimension. Absolute fire.

Danny Scrilla – Tell Dem <CLICK TITLE

Danny Scrilla comes out of nowhere with some nice 303 riddims. Danny is definitely a producer to watch in 2016, consistently pushing the boundaries of the 170bpm realm. Tell Dem is only available on limited 12” Vinyl so catch this one quick!

Khanum - Sands of Time <CLICK TITLE

Out now on C-side’s Transient Audio label, Sands of time builds the suspense with melodic middle-eastern inspired flutes and delivers a powerful bass weight on the drop worthy of holding its own at a Deep Medi rave. Armed with solid production capabilities and DJ talent Khanum is one to watch this year.

Nomine – Confusion <CLICK TITLE

Nomine ends his superb album with the fuzz-filled Confusion. So many tracks to choose from on this one but with only track to reach 170bpm; Confusion provides something different and gives a strong finish to Inside Nomine. Hoping to hear this one spinning this Friday at our 1st birthday event!
