Hot Since 82 back in Leeds is always a big deal. The city that he calls home has been a huge contributing factor in the success of his early career. It’s a reciprocal bonds that remains strong to the present day. But what has he been up to?

Until recently Daley Padley has been quiet by his own standards, but he is suddenly about to emerge back onto the scene in explosive fashion. First, he begins his stint as bi-weekly terrace resident for RESISTANCE in Ibiza. Then his label Knee Deep In Sound returns to the London after a two year hiatus - taking over the Copeland Park Centre warehouse for a day-to-night affair.

Maybe most significantly, the Yorkshire DJ/producer is preparing to release his sophomore album, 8-track. The KDIS LP is the second in the concept series, following Cristoph’s 2016 effort of the same name.

Let’s recap on five of his biggest releases as Hot Since 82 readies to return to Mint Warehouse.

The track that launched Daley into the stratosphere and introduced him to a wider audience. You couldn’t escape this remix when it dropped - going onto to eclipse Yousef’s original version and maintain a strong presence on the dancefloor for months to come.

Any track featuring those unique Green Velvet tones is already ahead of the competition, but it’s fair to say that this massive track elevated Hot Since 82’s stock even further. A monster record in all aspects.

Atmospheric and containing that distinct HS82 signature, Veins crossed-over to the underground as it was picked-up and supported by DJs from across the spectrum.

Covering a well-known classic - especially a dance track - is fraught with danger. Trust Joe Goddard to deliver a genuinely interesting new take on a classic record. During a period of low profile, Hot Since 82 then delivered the dancefloor ready remix.

Following from last year’s release of Bloodlines and Buggin’, it seems we’re finally on the eve of the 8-track project being released. Again hooking up with past collaborator Jem Cooke, You Are The Light is the latest single from the forthcoming album. We can’t wait to hear it in its entirety.

Hot Since 82 returns to his hometown on bank holiday weekend, Sunday 25th August. He plays Mint Festival Warm-up party at Mint Warehouse, alongside Delano Smith, Ben Rau and Kristin Velvet.

In October he heads up to Edinburgh's Terminal V festival alongside Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Fjaak and more.
