Love it or dread it, there’s no point staying in denial, Christmas is right around the corner. No matter your budget, it’s normal to feel like it's the most expensive time of year. Whether you’re buying for loved ones, treating yourself or been roped into a workplace secret santa, presents put a dent into your disposal income. In a cruel twist of fate, the last weekend in November through to 2nd January is also the period with the biggest concentration of parties and social events - right at the most inconvenient time. It does pose a conundrum… spend on gifts? Or spend on being a socialite? Tough one.

Like baby showers, high school proms and spelling bees before it, it was only a matter of time before this most American of customs crossed the Atlantic and became enshrined into British culture. We’re not in the business of cheap electricals, stocking fillers or last minute panic buys for the in-laws though, we’re firmly in the party business. Our Black Friday deals present a range of savings on some of the best remaining parties of 2019 and even a handful of 2020 events. See it as our timely gift to you, our loyal customers.

The key to being a successful Black Friday shopper is being prepared. Here’s where you could make a saving on the dancefloor this Thursday 28th and Friday 29th November.

LWE shows

Falling on the Saturday between Xmas and New Year, LWE look ahead to the forthcoming decade with Horizon 2020. The event is almost sold out already, currently on fourth release tickets, but there will be an extremely limited number of 2-4-1 tickets available until the allocation runs out.

COGO fans also have the option to save with 2-4-1 deals - including the colossal MK Presents Area 10 NYE at O2 Academy Brixton on Tuesday 31st December and then again at CamelPhat’s intimate Day & Night concept at XOYO and Village Underground on 25th January. Much the same, these are limited and will not hang around for long.

Egg LDN: B.O.G.O.F. on selected parties

Running from Black Friday right the way through until the day of each party respectfully, Egg LDN are offering Buy One Get One Free on the following events. You can choose from Latmun’s all night long - taking place on Black Friday itself or the Womb Tokyo takeover the next night with Hito and Technasia. Moving into December, Layton Giordani and Weska provide a strong Drumcode presence on Saturday 7th, while Sven Väth brings Cocoon to King’s Cross on the weekend before Xmas. Even New Year’s Eve with Mark Knight and Spekre is included in the deal. Well worth jumping on for that!

Ministry of Sound London: 50% off tickets

In South London, M.O.S are getting in on the discount action as well. The marquee venue in Elephant & Castle is offering half-priced tickets for three key dates. Boxing Day sees garage throwback promoters Backto95 land at the venue with a ticket price from back in the day. NYE is always a massive date at M.O.S. - and 2019 is no different. After the success of last year’s headline set, Hannah Wants is invited back to head-up The Box - also included in the offer. Finally, Goldie’s all-conquering D&B label Metalheadz arrive at the venue in the new year. Take advantage of 50% off tickets for this special party set for 22nd February.

This offer is only valid on Thursday 28th November and Black Friday itself, so move fast to take advantage.

The rest of the deals

Garage fans rejoice! UKG Brunch are offering B.O.G.O.F on tickets for their event on 28th December. There’s also tickets for 40% off on party dates throughout January 2020, while eagle-eyed bargain hunters may be able to spot £5 party-only tickets on selected dates from now until February next year.

Parable are knocking 20% off the current ticket price for their next party at E1. On Saturday 30th November, melodic kings Jeremy Olander and John Monkman will support Booka Shade’s latest live show inside The Warehouse. Active from Thursday through to the end of sales on Saturday itself. Other parties where you can steal a discount at E1 are the dates with Exit festival, Theo Parrish and the massive NYD Ellen Allien extended set. But you’ll need to be quick on the ball, as these three parties only have a limited number of 2 for 1 tickets available for a week or until stocks go.

Getting you in the festive spirit, Assembly will be throwing a tech house event with a difference. Fusing 4/4 beats with Xmas decor, the party at 93 Feet East on Saturday 14th December is sure to warm the heart of even the most curmudgeonly Scrooge. Half-priced tickets will be on sale from Thursday until they sell out - leaving you more cash to spend on presents for loved ones. Another shindig taking place at 93 Feet East is Set One Twenty with Giuliano Lomonte on Saturday 7th December. You’ll be able to pick up 2-4-1 tickets between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, or 20% off thereafter.

Our next deal is courtesy of Byday Bynight, who are throwing a rooftop Xmas festival on at The Prince of Wales in Brixton on Saturday 14th December. You can save 50% on the price of tickets when purchasing between Thursday and the day itself.

Bassheads don’t miss out either. UKF London at Studio 338 on Saturday 14th December and Faster DnB at The Steelyard on Saturday 11th January will both be selling 2 for 1 tickets, but on Thursday 28th November only - so set your phone reminders if this is applicable to you.

Lastly, NYE at McQueen Shoreditch just got a little bit cheaper. Café Mambo will be in control of proceedings, and if you commit to buying on Thursday or Friday of this week, you can bag a 30% discount. It always pays to be well-prepared for NYE - literally, in this case.

Allocations and deal expiry vary from promotion to promotion, so all we can advise is that you’re ready and waiting from this Thursday onwards. Happy bargain hunting!
