After launching her label, Pale Blue Dot, back in 2018, Vaal is scheduled to release her debut artist album via it at the end of the month. Titled Nosferatu - famously the name of the first film to feature vampires - we wonder whether the choice of name is a loose reference to changing states?
Thanks to her exploits on Afterlife, Vaal has garnered a reputation for an atmospheric and deep vein of techno that sits perfectly within the label’s remit. However, with her first LP, she demonstrates her versatility and ability to mix things up with a record that is steeped more in breaks and throwback trip-hop. Its release looks set to make Vaal surprise the industry all over again.

Vaal makes her debut at Junction 2 on Saturday 8th June. She’ll be in good company, as she lines-up alongside past collaborators and label mentors Tale Of Us. We’re certainly intrigued to see her add a couple of curveballs from her new album with her usual repertoire of haunting music.
Nosferatu is scheduled for release on Friday 25th January via Pale Blue Dot. Tickets for Saturday as well as the Friday and combo options are available to purchase now.
