A documentary revealing all about Ali Shirazinia aka Dubfire’s background will de debuted during Miami Film Festival in March.
‘Above Ground Level’ shares he story of his musical journey, which is a little different to most. Shirazinia and his family relocated from Iran to the United States in 1979 during the Iranian Revolution (and subsequent Iran-Iraq War). It was here that he found a passion for music and the will to succeed.
The film is timely given current topics of debate around immigration in US politics.
Dubfire says to Inc. of the film: "I hope that my story is an inspiring story for others who dream of a career in music and success along the way. For me personally, winning the Grammy was validation that the American dream is real. That through hard work and sacrifice, your efforts don't go unnoticed by your peers."
The documentary also examines the fast-paced nature of dance music and features interviews with Shirazinia’s family and friends, as well as contemporaries Carl Craig, David Guetta, Danny Tenaglia, Pete Tong, Richie Hawtin and more.
You can watch the trailer below and catch Dubfire at Sidexside at Tobacco Dock on April 16.
